Arthur J. Gallagher acquires business and assets of Woodbrook Underwriting Agencies Limited
Lawrence Graham LLP ("LG") has advised existing client Arthur J. Gallagher & Co ("Gallagher"), the international insurance broking and risk management services firm, on its acquisition of the business and assets of underwriting agency Woodbrook Underwriting Agencies Limited.
Woodbrook is a Financial Services Authority authorised underwriting agency representing a number of major insurance companies and Lloyd's Syndicates. Woodbrook will merge with OIM Underwriting, Gallagher's existing managing general agency platform which Gallagher acquired in September 2008 when it was also advised by LG. Corporate associate Sam Gray advised Gallagher together with corporate partner Geoff Gouriet and trainee Adam Summerfield.
Gouriet commented: "It is pleasing to have assisted Gallagher on this acquisition which complements our previous work in that the business will be merged into OIM Underwriting which was acquired in September 2008."
