Experience
- Advising Origo Partners Plc, the Beijing based private equity fund traded on AIM, on numerous investments in natural resource companies active in South East Asia
- Advising Kalahari Minerals plc, the AIM listed uranium exploration company in connection with various matters including the recommended cash offer from Taurus Minerals Limited
- Acting for Van Dieman Mines Plc, an AIM listed natural resources company on secondary fundraisings and advising on commercial arrangements
- Advising Micro Focus International Plc, the FTSE 250 software company on various acquisitions, group re-organisations and general corporate advice
- Advising Slater & Gordon Limited, the first publicly quoted law firm, on its acquisition of Russell Jones & Walker, one of the UK's leading personal injury practices. The newly formed LLP will be one of the very first entities to be granted an Alternative Business Structure licence by the Solicitors Regulation Authority
- Advising Clipper Windpower, the wind turbine manufacturer, on various equity fundraisings, commercial arrangements and strategic alliances. David acted as Clipper's primary point of contact for all day-to-day legal services in the UK prior to the sale of Clipper Windpower to United Technologies Corporation in December 2010
- Acting for Carbon Limiting Technologies Limited which advises new clean technology businesses and provides services for The Carbon Trust's Fast Track scheme
- Advising numerous early stage companies in the renewable energy and cleantech sectors on fundraisings and commercial contracts
- Attending and speaking at conferences. In November 2010 David spoke at the annual international tidal energy conference in London. Other recent speaking appearances include the implications of the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme (the UK carbon reduction commitment scheme) and a seminar on renewable energy and cleantech legal issues for local government
