  • Advised Clipper Windpower on its strategic alliance with BP Alternative Energy for the exploitation of Clipper's wind turbine technology through a long-term turbine supply agreement and the joint development of five wind energy projects in the USA, with a deal value of around US$4 billion. This was at the time the largest strategic alliance then seen in the UK renewable energy market

  • Advised Marine Current Turbines on its contracts with EDF Energy for the collaborative development, funding and licensing of MCT's patented tidal current technology and related IP rights and know-how, including the 1.2MW 'SeaGen' tidal energy turbine in Northern Ireland's Strangford Lough. This transaction attracted considerable public attention. The then UK Energy Minister Malcolm Wicks commented: "The UK leads the world in the field of tidal energy and this announcement is a very important step in maintaining that position... Projects like SeaGen are exactly the type of scheme we have to replicate in order to develop a world class UK industry"
